1) Draft fast, stay focused
Open a tab for each piece. Pin the active draft to keep it in view, and use Focus + Fullscreen when you need a distraction-free page.
- Shortcuts: Ctrl+Alt+N (new note), Ctrl+Shift+F (focus), Ctrl+Tab (switch tabs).
- Find & replace: Ctrl+F to search, Shift+Ctrl+F to toggle focus, and use the find bar to jump between matches.
- Session stats: Watch words, chars, and reading time in the status bar to keep pace with briefs.
2) Keep structure tidy while drafting
Use headings, lists, and quotes while you write. Your exports preserve hierarchy, so editors get a clean outline.
- Headings & lists: Apply H1/H2, bullets, and numbers as you go.
- Inline code & links: Add quick code spans and links; they carry through to Markdown/HTML.
- Paste safely: The editor sanitizes pasted/imported HTML, stripping scripts and on* handlers.
3) Polish with quick checks
Run a final skim with search and stats. Use the command palette (Ctrl/Cmd+K) to jump between drafts and actions without mousing.
- Search snippets: Jump to sections with Find; replace repeated phrases before handing off.
- Tab hygiene: Close old drafts; pin the ones you’re about to ship.
4) Export cleanly to your destination
One click gives you clean, portable files.
- Markdown: Ideal for editors, repos, and CMSes that accept MD.
- HTML: Send styled copy to web teams or email campaigns.
- TXT: Plain text for briefs, scripts, or when you need a raw draft.
Tip: Need everything? Use Export All (MD) before device changes so you always have a dated backup.
5) Hand-off checklist
- Confirm word count meets the brief.
- Scan links for accuracy and add
target="_blank"where needed. - Export to the format your editor or CMS prefers (MD first, HTML if they want styling).
- Keep a local copy (Export All) before you archive a project or clear browser data.
Open a new tab in NotesOnline, draft your next piece, and export to Markdown when you’re done.
